This recipe is dairy and gluten free.
All you need for this mouth watering, five starring recipe is a chicken with backbone discarded with sea salt, honey, basil, parsley, thyme, garlic and olive oil. And for the preparation of chimichurri sauce – cilantro, oregano, lime juice, red wine vinegar and some crushed red peppers.
Now, what are you waiting for? Assemble all the ingredients and get set go.
Take oregano, cilantro, lime juice, parsley, olive oil, garlic, vinegar, a few red pepper flakes and some salt, put them all in a blender. Blend them well but remember to leave them a bit crunchy. It ought to be flavourful and a bit of spicy at the same time.
This chimichurri sauce can be made before time and stored for up to two weeks, chilled. Also, this sauce can be used to marinade bacon , chicken, steak, etc.
Initially wash the chicken with cold water, dry it and pierce it with a knife.
Place the chicken pieces in a bowl and pour some chimichurri sauce over it, combine well and then transfer the remaining into a small bowl. Here, of course, the longer you keep the marinated chicken, the better, but since we tend to add the sauce to it, it’s okay to keep it for 30-40 minutes. Cover the bowl and refrigerate it. While refrigerating the chicken, Preheat the griller on which you wish to grill your chicken for 3-5 minutes and place your chicken pieces on the grill and cook them uncovered until the skin becomes crisp and crunchy. Keep one side for not more than 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden brown. You can even discard the extra chimichurri if left. Now after the chicken is grilled well, remove it from the griller and let it rest for 2-3 minutes and then transfer it to a plate, alongside chimichurri sauce. You can also add tomato salad.
Of course, you can grill the chicken plain but topping it with the sauce gives it an amazing flavor as each part of the chicken absorbs it well. And you can even pour some chimichurri sauce over the chicken after it’s grilled and serve alongside too. Chimichurri gives the perfect blend to the grilled chicken as this sauce from Argentina is full of herbs with just the right amount of tangy flavor.
If left, store it always in an airtight container, so it restraints all its flavors and keep them in a refrigerator.
Don’t wait for the griller to come to you or the winters to start, make it and enjoy! This dish certainly adds up to your list of favorites.
